Gastrointestinal effects are generally reported as worst in the days following a dose increase and easing as the body adjusts — which is the entire reason the schedule is stepped rather than immediate. That pattern is also why holding at a step, rather than pushing through, is such a common adjustment. Anything severe, persistent or unexpected warrants contacting your prescriber rather than searching for reassurance.
